After a relative warm period finally the real winter fell in here so there was ice on the canals and lakes in Holland for the last two weeks. Last weekend I went out to go to the province of Friesland to go skating a part of the (traditional) Elfstedentocht (11cities-race)-route. Unfortunately the actual race was cancelled earlier that week due to bad conditions at particular parts of the route...
